
Dr. Eakin was born and raised in Beaverton, Oregon. He received his A.B. from Stanford University and his M.D. from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He completed his internship in general surgery and residency in orthopaedic surgery at UCSF before pursuing a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado. He then returned to the Bay Area where he has been practicing orthopaedic sports medicine with an emphasis in shoulder medicine for nearly three decades at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation in Palo Alto, CA. He is the former head team physician for the San Francisco Giants, San Jose Earthquakes, and Stanford Men’s Basketball.
Dr. Eakin lives in Menlo Park, CA with his wife Michelle and their children Hunter (10) and Charlotte (8). They attend Creekside Bible Church in Cupertino, CA where Dr. Eakin teaches in various capacities. He has had an ongoing Bible teaching ministry at Stanford University and is the author of God’s Glorious Story, What the Bible Says About the Future, and Beware of Dogs: Exposing Error in the Modern Church.
